Accountant

At Southwestern Electric Cooperative, we power more than just homes – we power communities, progress, and possibilities. As our Accountant, you'll play in essential role in our financial operations, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and efficiency in all things related to finances.

Essential Duties:

• Manage the general ledger coding for all transactions and supporting documentation.
• Record adjusting journal entries to the general ledger.
• Daily monitoring of cash activities and posting miscellaneous deposits.
• Support the Accounting Manager and CFO with the management of cash flow, monthly, year-end, and ad hoc financial reports, and the development, implementation, and maintenance of annual budget.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or business, with an accounting focus.
• Three years of financial accounting experience is required. Previous electric utility accounting experience and knowledge of RUS accounting principles, including work order procedures, preferred.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in record keeping is required.
